Automated Solutions for High-Volume Hiring
What if qualified job seekers didn’t need to have an application reviewed to get an interview? Early data showed that this was a significant pain-point in the hiring cycle for both employers and job seekers. Our goal was to disrupt this process. We succeeded and the result was an award-winning product that generated over 250 million dollars for the company.

Design Approach
Understanding the hiring process and defining the pain points by user group
In this early discovery phase, I worked closely with my product manager to interview people from each user group. Acting as both a researcher and designer, I led the interviews and synthesized the feedback into themes that I shared with the rest of the team. We used this information to inform our solutions.
A Happy Path For Our Users To Get To an Interview
In order to narrow down the scope of the project to get to a true MVP, I defined a happy path for job seekers, employers, and the sales teams. This also became an evergreen tool for onboarding new team members.
MVP Designs
Sign Up to Interview Rather Than Wait to Hear Back
For job seekers, I leveraged the existing job detail page to promote the Hiring Event, saving engineering time and getting us to an MVP faster. The biggest update to the existing experience was allowing job seekers to sign up for a time to interview if they passed the job’s screener questions.
Creation Funnel for Events
For recruiters, I designed a new event creation funnel. Employers answered questions to build a hiring event, like: Date and time, how to prepare, interview time slots, RSVP cap options, event location, and arrival instructions.
Results and Impact
The redesigned Hiring Events platform was a resounding success. It significantly improved the hiring experience, with 96% of job seekers securing interviews within 10 days. The platform was adopted by over 23,000 clients and contributed to $250 million in revenue. This achievement earned the platform a spot on Fortune's "Change the World 2021" list, solidifying its impact on the industry.
